Re-Connecting
Humans to Nature

From Kenya... To Your Home

For more than thirty-five years, I have called America home. Yet every year, I return to Kenya. Not simply to visit family, but to reconnect with the place where I first learned that wellness begins with the earth.

Growing up in Kenya, caring for our bodies wasn't considered "alternative." It was simply life. Fresh herbs were part of our meals. Botanical teas were shared around the table. Plants nourished our bodies, strengthened our hair, and became part of the rhythms of everyday living.

Those traditions never left me. Friends often ask about my skin, my hair, or the wellness practices I follow. They are often surprised when I tell them there isn't a secret product or complicated routine.

The greatest gift I carried with me from Kenya wasn't something in a bottle. It was a way of living.

Even after building my life in America, I continued making annual trips home, returning with herbs, teas, botanicals, and ingredients that had always been part of my family's wellness traditions.

Eventually I realized these weren't simply products. They were a heritage worth preserving. A story worth sharing. That realization became Rafiki Roots.

A Mother-Daughter Legacy

One of my greatest joys has been watching my daughter, Kenya, embrace these same traditions. She grew up understanding that caring for her body wasn't about chasing beauty standards. It was about honoring herself.

Today we continue those same rituals together, preparing herbal infusions, caring for our hair naturally, choosing wholesome ingredients, and embracing wellness as a lifelong journey.

Rafiki Roots is our invitation to share those traditions with other women. Because the greatest beauty begins with health.

Why Rafiki?

"Rafiki" means friend in Swahili.

To us, friendship is more than companionship. It is community. It is trust. It is women supporting women. That spirit guides everything we do.

WHY RAFIKI ROOTS?

The Difference Begins Before the Harvest

Nature rewards patience.
So do we.

Many herbs available today are produced on a large industrial scale, processed for efficiency, and stored for long periods before reaching consumers. While these products serve an important purpose, freshness and craftsmanship are often sacrificed along the way.

We Grow with Intention

Whenever possible, our herbs are cultivated using organic growing practices that respect both the soil and the surrounding ecosystem. Healthy plants begin with healthy land.

We Produce in Small Batches

Quality should never be compromised for volume. Every harvest receives the attention it deserves because we believe freshness matters.

We Build Relationships

Every product represents the hands that nurtured it. Every purchase supports the people behind the harvest. Because wellness should strengthen communities—not just consumers.

We Air-Dry Naturally

Instead of rushing the drying process, we gently air-dry our herbs to help preserve their vibrant color, distinctive aroma, and natural character. When you open a package from Rafiki Roots, we want you to experience the freshness that inspired us to create this company.

We Believe in Transparency

You deserve to know where your wellness products come from. Who grew them. How they were harvested. Why they were selected. Trust is part of wellness.
